Default Druid concept

First, i've been looking if this one was already proposed and i didn't find it, if there is... sorry.


The Druid

A natural magician that is in communion with earth and life forms, he has the power to speak with mother earth, the power to speak with animals... and even te power to be an animal...

Let's get to the GW concept:

Attributes:
- Natural Communion
- Earth Communion
- Water Communion
- Lifeforms Communion

Natural Communion

Is the main attribute. For each 2 ranks you'll gain 3 energy when a invocation ends, Transformations will long 20% longer for each 3 ranks in this attribute. The skills related with whis attibute will make give you more energy, more life and more duration in your rituals.

Earth Communion

The skills of this attribute may be related with attacking skills, knockdowns, shields that protect the group, slowing up the enemy, making shouts unheard... kinda good for a defensive char. You'll also have some invocation skills that will allow you to invoke some nice wooden low-level friends to fight for you for a limit of time, even you can invoke aloes for healing and other plant moobs from maguuma

Water Communion

Life is water... earth is water... and water will be a healing special attribute for the druid, combined enchantments with earth communion that will allow to keep some protections for longer, some attacking spells. You will also be able to invoke some water-related low level creatures to fight for you with a time limitation. They won't be so related to ice as the elementalist, but more to water in the natural form in forests, wood need water to life, so they will be some kind of low-level wood mob with water spells.

Lifeforms Communion

At least the real one for attacking will be thisone, and also will have the better elite skills for this profession. You'll have some skills that will allow you to invoke animals to fight with you, this invocations can be for 3 or 4 low level pets, high cost max level pet... they'll have a duration and some of them , very powerfull, when they end they'll be hostile to anyone until they die... other invocations will be like an instant strike of animal groups that attack instantly the target.

There will also be a great number of attacking skills linked to transformations, someones will require a determinate transformation and someones will only require to be in a transformation.

The best point will be the transformations, although they are linked to determinate attribute (i thought about lifeform communion) the duration may be greatly determinated by the main attribute. Also while in a transformation you won't be able to use skills that aren't attacks of that transformation. Also, the transformation aren't a enchantment, but will work as enchantments as holy veil or mending, you'll lose 1 energy pip while transformed and you'll be able to return to you normal form whenever you want. Of course they have a duration and a high recharge time... if you return to your normal form, you lose the time left and you'll have to wait for the transformation to be recharged in order to use it again.

All transformations will be considered elite skills, such as the dervich transformations, but now we are talking about animal transformations:
- The Fox: when you are a fox you'll deal low amount of damage, but will move and attack faster.
- The Wolf: more life, average attack speed and damage, a little speed boost.
- The Spider: All the conditions you infflict will last 33% longer and your attack skills will also poison the enemy.
- The Bear: high armor, high damage, low attack speed. Hexes will last in you 50%
- The Crow: yes, you fly xD (simply put a bird in your characters head and erase your character, that high you'll fly ), low armor, but will only be affected by 'head' hits, moves faster, has inherent 50% dodge, high attack speed, low damage.

The transformations i've wrote are just ideas, they should be a balanced transformations that make all possible to play, and give benefits in different ways.

Armor

Is a magician, will have inherent bonus armor against earth&water damage. the base armor should be 60. The appereance is just like the drawing... is a magician

Weapons

He will use staff, wand and focus, they will determinate de base damage, transformations and it's attack skills may add the damage modifiers to 11-22 staff/wand damage.

Energy

Is a magician... so as any other casters, 4 pips and a caster energy base. Although the transformations make physical damage, the costs of attacking skills will and the fact he won't usually gain energy from the main attribute while in a transformation... makes useful caster energy.

Hope you like it, maybe i didn't explain it as well as it looks in my mind, but i think it would be a great class.

There were a few Druid/Shaman CC posted here over the years... Nothing recently, so you won't be able to find it with out doing some dig..

Anyhow.. I like the names of the attribute and what they do. Its a good split. I would want to see more on Earth and Water Communion.. as I think geomancery have a good potential, and wonder what kind of Water skill it could be done (can be another monk?). Overall, a good spread of attributes, a layout I won't mind modeling after.

It's an alright idea I guess, some healing and support, some attack, some summoning.

I think it oversteps some bounds on feature diversity, being able to summon, heal, nuke and support, and more all add up for some serious diversity. Compared to Necro who can summon, support somewhat, deal damage and hex, your looking at some advantage.

And further, Being able to summon all sorts of specialized creatures is even better than MM and perhaps Beast Mastery. For a class which summons, it should probably be a summon focus, and have stronger use of creatures but less function in other features.

As for the name, Druid is already a description of the tree creatures, simular to what other fantasies call treants. Maybe it could be used as a class name, but with it already being a creature and a set of armor for Ranger, it's far stepping into the realm of mixed identity.
